When you can be more efficient,

get done faster,

and find the easy way to do things,

then you spend more time enjoying what makes you happy.

Life’s too short to fold underwear

I arrived home after work one day, looking forward to an afternoon at the lake,to find my beloved folding laundry on the couch.

This is all wonderful and helpful not to have wrinkled work clothes. I am ok with waiting until the laundry is finished. Until it was taking forever to fold underwear.

UNDERWEAR!?!

Oh my goodness, I was so antsy to get outdoors and enjoy nature that I threw the underwear in the air and yelled, “Life is too short to fold underwear! OMG let’s go to the lake already.”

Whew, needless to say, that was my motto for a very long time.

love what you do

If you love what you do, then you will never work a day in your life.

I want to do for my day job, what I would be choosing to be doing during the weekend.

Things you can do
right now to feel happier
in this moment:
  1. Smile – The act of smiling activates neural messaging that benefits your health and happiness.

2. Think of a happy event (puppy dog kisses, baby laughter)

3. Think of a funny thing (Tim Conway and the Siamese elephant skit)

4. Think if a song that gets your toes tapping

5. Think of 3 things you are grateful for in this moment – shelter, clean air, food, etc

6. Sing a happy song out loud

7. Dance (enjoy this video)

blow on the roll

I found that it is most frustrating to find the end of the toilet paper roll when it is in the middle of the night and I don’t want to wake up more by turning on the bathroom light.

So now I just blow on the roll and the loose end floats away from the roll, ready for use.

Happiness is a state of mind

Happiness is not just one number between 1 and 10.

Your happiness fluctuates in a range, some people are from 3-5, other people 4-6,  still others are from 5-7, and a few are in the 7-10 range.

This happiness range can go up and down on a daily basis depending on how we react to our version of the world around us.

We can can increase our happiness range by being more aware of our reactions to life.

When you find yourself facing a difficult time, make a list of things that  bring you joy (either in your mind or down on paper).  Just thinking about a better thought, raises your vibrational energy, and you become less sad.

It is hard to feel angry, jealous, or sad when you picture yourself in a patch of fresh spring grass being pounced on by baby puppies trying to lick your face off.

The years in your life

 Your teens are for
learning and experimenting.

Your twenties are for
practicing and failing

Your thirties are for
exploring and growing

Your forties are for
understanding and realization

Your fifties are about reckoning
